It’s a classic fashion struggle. You need to look classy and professional for work, but want to have a little bit more fun with your wardrobe when you hit the bar afterward. Instead of having to keep an entirely new outfit in your car, try just changing up a few things to smoothly transition from office wear to casual wear. To get you started, here are eight inspiration pics featuring some of our favorite new Venue Pieces!
1. From Suede to Leather in One Jacket
For a classic office look, you can never go wrong with some black pants and a classic black and white blouse. To spruce up the look, we’ve added this beautiful mauve-colored suede jacket. It’s a fun piece that still keeps the outfit looking professional.
And for the night look, just flip the jacket! That’s right, this piece is reversible! The other side is a smooth leather-like texture, much more appropriate for a night out. You can also swap the business pants for a simple pair of denim shorts to make the look even more casual.
2. Lose the Tie
Another sweet and simple office look is a clean white blouse paired with a black pencil skirt. This Venue top is one of our favorites, and the tie on the front is a cute little detail. Plus, the ruffles on the collar and the sleeves make this shirt a lot cuter than the standard white button-up. For the business look, we’ve tied the shirt up and tucked it in for a neat and professional look.
To dress down the look a bit, try not tying the strings on the collar to create a more casual, after-work kind of look. Since the pencil skirt might be a bit dressy for the bar scene, swap it out for a pair of skinny jeans, like this adorable new pair from Venue.
3. Bottom Switch
As fall approaches, you might find yourself wanting a top that’s little thicker or more textured. This top is the perfect solution! It’s made from a sweater-like material, but it’s not too thick or scratchy. In fact, it’s actually super soft and comfy! We paired this top with another pair of black pants, but these have a fun twist: there are little slits on each ankle! This little detail adds something unique to the pants without making them inappropriate for an office. So cute!
While we love the playful slit in these pants, they’re still not necessarily bar attire. That’s why we suggest trading in the pants for one of our new denim skirts! Though this shirt is made of a thicker material, it’s still light enough that it looks adorable with a skirt for a perfect late-summer/early-fall look.
4. Let that Shoulder Show
We’re so in love with the BB Dakota Rose Jacket, we had it bring it back out for this last outfit. If you’re not feeling the classic black-pants, white-shirt combo, why not reverse it? White jeans are often dressy enough for most office dress codes, and they look great with the jacket and a simple black top.
For the nighttime look, just take off the jacket. Surprise! The black shirt isn’t so simple after all; it’s a cold-shouldered tunic that would be the perfect piece to wear to happy hour. You can keep the white jeans for this look, but if you want to make the look even more casual, just trade in the white jeans for some trusty old blue ones.
