Whether you like it or not, the time to head back to school is right around the corner. Luckily, there is one thing that always makes that back-to-school period hurt just a little less: shopping! Finding that perfect first-day-of-school outfit is always fun, and we’ve got some perfect options outlined in this blog post.
1. Denim Shirt + Colored Jeans
Blue jeans are a classic for back-to-school (and we’ll get there), but for our first look, we wanted to be a little more creative with the denim trend. This denim shirt is especially cute with the fringe that lines the bottom. Since it’s a neutral top, we paired it with a colored jean to avoid too much jean. The result is a unique and adorable ensemble that will grab the attention of everyone at school!
2. Funky Sweater + Distressed Jeans
If you would prefer to keep your denim on the bottoms, fear not! We also love the look of a classic blue jean. These light wash pair with a couple rips would pair well with almost any top, but we especially love it with this fun thermal. The mix of colors, patterns, and textures on this top make it much more interesting than your typical crewneck, so you’ll be sure to stand out among a sea of sweaters!
3. Striped Dress
If you like to go a little dressier for your first day of school (or any day of school!), we’ve got just the look for you. This black and white dress is not only super cute, it’s long enough to abide by almost all school dress codes. It’s also nice and comfy, so you can sit in class all day, no problem. (And bonus: if you go to South Lyon East, you can wear it to rep your school colors!)
4. Green Sweater + Leggings
We’re also suckers for a good sweater/legging combo, and this one definitely fits the bill. The olive-colored sweater is perfect as we transition to fall, and the high-low hem gives it a little extra style. The longer back also makes it the perfect top to pair with a pair of leggings. You could also pair the sweater with a fun scarf or statement necklace to dress it up a bit!
5. Patterned Sleeves + Distressed Jeans
If you’re searching for a more bohemian look, this top has your name all over it. This V-neck has patterned sleeves that billow out for a unique and fun look. Like look number 2, the shirt in this outfit makes the statement, so you can keep it simple with the bottoms and stick with some blue jeans.
6. Graphic Tee + Denim Skirt
If you’re looking for yet another way to rock denim this school year, we’ve got one more idea: a denim skirt! This jean skirt will go with almost any top you have, and it’s also long enough for the dress code. We’ve paired it with one of our favorite Venue graphic tees, an olive shirt that says, “wild soul.” The resulting outfit is casual but feminine, and would look great with flip flops, sandals, or converse.
